Philadelphia Zoo

Today we went to the Philadelphia Zoo with Karen and her boys, Justin and Colin. Surprisingly, after nine years it's the first time we've been to this zoo. Well, not too surprisingly if you know me well enough. We had a great time despite the heat. Did you know that the Philadelphia Zoo was the first zoo in the country?

The animals were pretty active today. The tortoises were actually out of their shells! The hippos were swimming and playing with a ball! One of the workers says this was the most active she's seen them in weeks.

Instead of pony rides, Zach and Matt rode a camel! Allie first got on and then flipped out. She said, "Mommy scared, Mommy scared". The boys said it was a very bumpy ride.

We finished off the afternoon at the pool - perfect day!
