Sectionals were a little more tough than Districts. Horsham was competing against the other District Champions. We won the first game, but lost the next game in a double elimination tournament. And both were filled with such opposite emotions. The first game was awesome! (You'll see why at the end of this post!) The second game was filled with such heartache. They lost pretty big so these boys weren't used to those feelings that come along with it. The pitcher asked his mom on the ride home after the game if all the parents were mad at him. When she told us this we all just fell a little more in love with these boys. They play their hearts out.
The third game was a nail bitter. Here are some shots before Game 3:

And let the game begin! Zach did a GREAT job batting, running, as an outfielder, and even as a pitcher. It was AWESOME watching this kid go such a great job. Zach was struggling last year and at the beginning of this season. But with HARD work he overcame whatever it was he needed to overcome and was able to shine!
OK, so here he is pitching in Game 3. As you can only imagine, I was a wreck. He threw some wicked curve balls and managed to get a few outs.
But in the end the boys came out losing Game 3, and all of a sudden the season was over. But all was not lost because of this:
YES!! Zach hit a 2 run HOMERUN in Game 1! It was AWESOME!!! That's just pure joy right there on that face! WOW!
A few days after the game we all celebrated a FANTASTIC season and said farewell to the Ramirez family. They will be missed!
Great season, boys! Great season, Coach Walker, Coach Liott, and Coach Johnston! Thank you! Thank you!
